Store manager assaulted, robbed while making night bank deposit

WALLKILL – A store manager who was making a night deposit at the Bank of America branch on Route 211 East in the Town of Wallkill Sunday night was attacked and the deposit bag was stolen, State Police said Monday. The bag contained an undetermined amount of money.

While making the night drop, the manager was approached by a man who struck him in the face and stole the bag. The robber fled on foot into a wooded area next to the bank and a search by State Police, Town of Wallkill Police and Orange County Sheriff’s Office K-9 units failed to locate him.

The manger suffered minor injuries.

The robber was described as being five feet, four inches tall, 150 pounds with a medium build, wearing a grey/black shirt, dark pants and black sneakers.
