Chadwick Gerow, of Parksville, NY formerly
of Middletown, NY died Friday June 20, 2008 at Park Manor
Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was 85.
Chad was born April 8, 1923 in Blooming Grove, NY, he was
the son of the late Warren and Dorothy Moulton Gerow.
He graduated from Middletown High School in 1942, played semi-pro
football with the Middletown Blue Devils in the 1940's. 1950-1960's
he was a member of the Middletown Junior Chamber of Commerce
where he was chosen as Jaycee of the Year. He was a coach
and Umpire for the Middletown Little League.
He retired in 1980 after 25 years of service as a Middletown
Professional Firefighter and was a 54 year member and Past
President of the Excelsior Hook & Ladder Company. A member
of rthe BPOElks 1545, Liberty, the Sullivan County International
Order of OB, the Sullivan County Sportsmen Federation. Proud
founder and active member of the Hi-Lo Hunting Club, Parksville.
Chad loved the outdoors, was an advid hunter, loved books
on the civil war. Of all his acheivements, he was most remembered
as loving and dedicated to his family, providing guidance
and inspiration. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
He is survived by his companion of 28 years Lorraine Misner,
2 children Carolyn Duncanson of Orlando, FL and C.Lee Gerow
and wife Pat of Middletown, NY, his grandchildren Brian Duncanson
and wife Michelleof Southbury,CT, Jennifer Scheitler and husband
Richard of Los Angeles, CA, Cynthia Masters and husbend Dr.

MOHEGAN LAKE- Kenneth "Kenny" Fisher,
43, died June 19, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong area resident, Kenny attended the Westchester Business
Institute and owned and operated 403 Custom Automotive in
Garrison for over 15 years.
He was a die- hard Jets fan and season ticket holder, and
for a short time raced in the Street Stock Division at Orange
County Fair Speedway.
He leaves behind his wife of nearly 20 years, Patti Ann McNamara
Fisher, his parents Al & Peggy Fisher, sister Melanie
Fisher, and niece and nephew Divonna and Donald Taylor.

EAST FISHKILL – Lisa Marie Moray, 22,
a lifelong area resident, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2008
in the Town of Greenburgh from injuries sustained in an automobile
accident.
Lisa was born on August 22, 1985 in Poughkeepsie, the daughter
of Walter “Butch” Moray and Donna Safko Moray.
She graduated in 2004 from Roy C. Ketcham High School where
she was a member of the Varsity Girl’s Basketball Team.
She continued her career in basketball as a member of the
Women’s Basketball Team at Sacred Heart University where
she graduated in May with a Bachelors Degree in Education.
As an athlete, Lisa received many awards including being the
all-time leading scorer for the Wappingers Central School
District with 2,021 career points.
Lisa loved being with her family including her parents who
survive at home; her sisters, Cheryl Wilkinson and her husband,
James of Wappingers Falls, Lori Straley and her husband, Greg
of Pleasant Valley, and Debi Moray of Hopewell Junction; her
nieces and nephew, Julianne and Jessica Wilkinson, Heather
Martino and Anthony Moray; her grandmother, Phyllis Moray
of Yonkers; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Robert Cross Rothwell, Sr.

Robert Cross Rothwell Sr., a lifelong area resident,
died Monday, June 16, 2008 at the New York State Veterans
Home at Montrose. He was 69.
He proudly served his country during the Viet
Nam war, and worked for many years as an oil technician and
repairman for Heatwell and Paraco Gas Corp.
He is survived by his children Robert Jr. of
Croton, and Robin of Largo, FL, granddaughter Anna-Rose Brown,
his mother Dorothy Puglese of Peekskill, four sisters, one
brother, and his former wife Peggy. He was predeceased by
his father Karl, wife Alice, and sister Roseanne.
The family will receive friends at the E.O. Curry Funeral
Home on Wednesday, June 18 from 7-9 p.m.

Robert H. “Gabe” Gabrielson
Liberty, NY
Robert Harry Gabrielson of Liberty, died Saturday
June 14, 2008 peacefully at home after a long battle with
cancer and kidney disease. He was 78.
He was born on November 11, 1929 on the farm
in Briscoe NY. He was the son of the late Edith and Harry
Gabrielsen and the grandson of the late Chellie Norris.
Bob worked for the New York Telephone Company
for over 25 years and after retirement worked for Cablevision.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
He was a founding member of the Raccoon Hunting
Club in Claryville, NY and a member of the Telephone Pioneers
of America. Bob was devoted to his family and friends and
enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman.
In particular, he took great pleasure in catching walleyes
and northern pike.
Bob was married his high school sweetheart,
Anne Watson Gabrielson, for 56 years. In addition to his wife,
he is survived by his daughter Terry Dumas and her husband
Bob, and two grandsons, Jacob and Eli Lurie, the lights of
his life. He is also survived by his brother Richard Gabrielsen
and his wife Ethel, his sister Agnes Clark and her husband
Gerry, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Bob was the son-and-law of the late Sophie and Ross Watson
and is also survived by the extended Watson family.

William Robert Bergener
Wiccopee, NY
William Robert Bergener, 57, a local area resident
for 30 years, formerly of Briarcliff Manor, died Wednesday,
June 11, 2008, surrounded by his family at Vassar Brothers
Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. For 24 years, he was the President
of B-Dry System of Southern New York as well as Foundation
Stabilizers, Inc., in Wappingers Falls. William was a generous
man who loved to serve his community, especially during the
holiday season.
He volunteered as a coach for the East Fishkill
Softball League and enjoyed riding motorcycles. An avid outdoorsman,
William enjoyed fishing, hiking, and kayaking. He also enjoyed
traveling. Above all things, he loved spending time and playing
with his grandson, Matthew.
Born in Bronxville on September 24, 1950, he was son of the
late William and Carol Cassone Bergener. In 1968, William
graduated form Salesian High School in New Rochelle. On December
21, 1974, he married Bonnie Leibler in Tarrytown. Mrs. Bergener
survives at their home on West Wind Farm in Wiccopee.
Other survivors include his son, Bill Bergener; son, Michael
Bergener; daughter, Jessica Bergener and her companion Michael
Bartolini; grandson, Matthew Joseph Bartolini; sisters, Joan
Shea of Hilton Head, SC and Elizabeth Ann Castillo of Ridgefield,
CT; many nieces, nephews, close friends, and his devoted bull
mastiff, Caine. ]

Lawrence (Larry) Kanoff, of Middletown, died
unexpectedly Thursday, June 12th, 2008 at home. He was 65.
Larry was born November 1, 1942 in Middletown, NY the son
of Herbert and Emma Splatter Kanoff.
He delivered the Times Herald Record for many years. He loved
to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. He also enjoyed
playing Santa Claus for the kids. Larry will be sadly missed
by all that knew him.
He is survived by his companion Margaret Kanoff at home ,his
daughter Tinah VanDermark and her companion Sam Nieves, Grandson
Kris R. VanDernmark Jr, sister in law Linda Kanoff all of
Middletown, his sister Gwen Sparks of Melbourne, FL several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brothers Bill, Herbie and Burt Kanoff.

Doris Jane Smith, 91, died Thursday June 12,
2008 after a brief illness. She was born August 30, 1916 in
Kansas City, MO to Oliver and Evelyna Hicks Leonard.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and was active
in her church, with her local Girl Scouts council. Since moving
to Garrison in 2002, she loved golfing with her friends at
the Highlands Country Club. She is survived by her son Richard
(Carmen) Smith of Garrison, daughter Karol (Kent) Middleton
of Austin, TX, and sisters Mildred Holt of Galveston, TX and
Barbara Wiitala of Okeechobee, FL.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren Bradley Smith, Lydia
McMahon, Irene Middleton and Helen Fekete, and great-grandchildren
Conor McMahon and Sofia and Lauren Smith.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Leo

Joseph T. McKeon

Joseph T. McKeon, 64, a local area resident
for 25 years, formerly of Deer Park, Long Island, died peacefully
at his home in the Town of East Fishkill on Wednesday, June
11, 2008. For 27 years, he was employed by the New York Yankees
and retired in 2000 when he was in charge of advance ticket
sales. For the last seven years, he has been the owner and
operator of Hopewell Oasis. Joseph was a member of St. Columba
Church in Hopewell Junction and enjoyed riding his tractor
and gardening.
Born in Elmhurst, NY on June 18, 1943, he was the son of the
late Joseph and Florence Stevens McKeon. On October 21, 1972,
he married Lucinda Beaudoin at St. Briget’s Church in
Westbury, NY.
Mrs. McKeon survives at home.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Brandon
and her husband Edward of Wappingers Falls; his son, Kevin
McKeon of LaGrange; his sisters, Susan Kerr of Florida, Myra
Lobassco of Ronkonkoma, Maureen Harjes of Hicksville, &
Florence McKeon of Maryland; also many nieces and nephews.

Rose Timm, 82, of Red Hook, NY, died Tuesday,
June 10, 2008 at the Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt.
Kisco, NY.
A member of the Southern Tier Senior Citizens
and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elizaville Fire Company, she
and her husband moved from Yorktown, NY to Elizaville 23 years
ago.
Born February 22, 1926, in Mt. Vernon, NY, she
was the daughter of the late Cosmo and Felicia Rose (DiMaria)
Costello. On December 5, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, NY, she married
Ernest Timm. He survives her at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived
by her four children: Diane McCarthy & her husband Glenn
of Yorktown Heights, NY, Carl Timm of Bridgeton, NJ, Jean
Bengis & her husband Mark of Stormville, NY, and Jane
Bilello & her husband Michael of Wappingers Falls, NY.
Sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive
her.
A daughter, Elaine Timm, predeceased her in
1964.

John T. Knaus, Jr.
Spring Hill, FL
John T. Knaus, Jr., 70, of Spring Hill, FL,
passed peacefully at his home with his family present on June
9, 2008. Formerly from Red Hook, NY, John retired full time
to Spring Hill in 2002.
Born in Rhinebeck, NY, June 13, 1937, he was
the son of the late John Knaus, Sr. and Eleanor Rockefeller
Knaus. John grew up in Ridgewood, NY, and attended St. Bridget’s
School, Queens Vocational, and graduated in 1955 from Brooklyn
Automotive. He served in the United States Army (1956 - 1958)
in Panama and received an Honorable Discharge.
John married Helene Westhoff, March 2, 1957.
She predeceased him in February 1985. His son, John W. predeceased
him in May 2007.
In April 1961, John started working for John
Arborio in Poughkeepsie, NY and worked under International
Union of Operating Engineers, Local 106. He retired in 2002.
John enjoyed camping and many outdoor activities
with his family and friends. Since retirement, he traveled
to many areas. He had a special passion for Tennessee and
the Smokey Mountains. He toured Europe and visited his father’s
birthplace in Austria.
John enjoyed attending car shows and “Cruise-Ins”
with his restored 1955 Chevy Bel Air. He was passionate to
participate in car show fund-raisers when he knew others would
benefit. He modestly filled a room with his winning trophies.
John was proud of his family and felt blessed
by his many friends. He is survived by his daughters and their
families: Joann Grazier, husband Craig and children Erik &
Michele of Shokan, NY., Laura Warren and son Matthew of Wappingers
Falls, NY, and Ann-Marie Cochran and husband Darren of West
Yarmouth, MA. His granddaughter, Megan Knaus, of Rhinebeck,
NY, and son-in-law, Doug Warren, of Red Hook, NY. His best
friend, and second love, Shirley Robinson, Lebanon, TN.
A memorial service will be announced at a future

Mario John “Mickey” Ercoli, 60,
a resident of Wappingers Falls for 23 years and formerly of
White Plains, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at
his home.
Mickey was born in Cincinnati, OH on April 27, 1948, the son
of Betty Ross Ercoli of White Plains and the late Mario B.
Ercoli. He was the owner and operator of Ercoli Construction
Company, Inc., Wappingers Falls and was a member of St. John‘s
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Poughkeepsie. He was an avid
NASCAR and New York Jets fan who enjoyed playing golf, but
he especially loved spending time with his son, Charlie and
watching him play tennis.
On June 9, 1985 in White Plains, he married Charlene Michelin
who survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother,
Mickey is survived by his son, Charlie; his brother, Dennis
Ercoli of Esopus; his mother-in-law, Theresa Michelin of Delray
Beach, FL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews,
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Chung-Ping Eng, 49, a resident of Hopewell
Junction since 1991 and formerly of Danbury, CT, died on Saturday,
June 7th, 2008 at the Wingate at Dutchess with his family
by his bedside.
Born on August 24, 1958 in Guangzhou, China, he was the son
of Ke Min Teng and Kok Ning Ng of Queens, NY. Ping graduated
from CCNY in 1984 and earned his Masters in Electrical Engineering
from Brooklyn Polytech in 1988. He was employed as an engineer
at IBM East Fishkill for the last 24 years and received multiple
patent awards as well as the honor of being recognized as
a Senior Engineer.
On August 12, 1985 in New York City, Ping married Yuet-Ying
Yu who survives at home. In addition to his wife and parents,
he is survived by his sons, Nicholas and Andrew Eng of Hopewell
Junction; his brothers, Oliver Eng of Parsippany, NJ and Chung-Liang
Eng of Fremont, CA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces,
nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was a loving
father and a caring husband.

Ann M. Conner, born in the Bronx on July 20,
1954,passed peacefully on June 1, 2008.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Joeann Costa;
her companion and love, John Kunkel; his children Sarah and
Chris; and the many people whose lives she touched. Her compassion,
strength and humor, were larger than life. So is she. She
was a 'Mom' to many, champion of many more and an inspiration

Regina Mary Finn Long, of Carlisle, PA formerly
of Middletown, NY died Friday, June 6th, 2008 peacefully at
Chapel Point Nursing Home, Carlisle, PA. She was 92.
Born in Middletown, New York on October 19, 1915, the daughter
of the late John C. and Dora V. Connors McMickle.
She married David F. Finn Sr on October 18, 1941 at St Joseph
Church, Middletown. David died March 11, 1978. She married
Dr. James A. Long on April 8, 1989 at St Patrick's Church,
Carlisle, PA. James died May 1, 2000
She graduated from St Joseph Catholic School, Middletown High
School, and the Ursaline Academy Secretarial School in 1933.
Over the years she had been employed with Orange & Rockland
Utilities, Chester National Bank and the Orange County Trust.
She was a communicant of St Patrick's Church, Carlisle, PA.
Survived by three children David F. Finn Jr. and his wife
Barbara formerly of Howells now of New Bern, NC, Patricia
A Disque and her husband Lauren of Carlisle, PA, Regina M
Bogert of Norwich, NY; 2 sisters Mary Cook of State of Florida,
Ann Ducey of Rhode Island.
She is also survived by Seven Grandchildren

Jennie Lagatta, 95, a resident of Inverness
since 2003 and formerly of Hopewell Junction, Bayshore and
Manhattan died on Friday, June 6, 2008 at Citrus Memorial
Hospital, Inverness.
Jennie was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 29, 1912,
the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Guiseppa Ciravillera
Asaro.
On November 2, 1941 in Alabama, she married Joseph J. Lagatta
who died on December 24, 1998.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Csaszar and her husband,
Fred of Inverness, FL; her sons, Peter Lagatta and his wife,
Mary of Bayshore and Vincent Lagatta of Inverness, FL; her
grandchildren, Jean Lown, and her husband, Bill of Hopewell
Junction, Fred Csaszar of Poughkeepsie, Frank Csaszar and
his finace, Carol Merando of LaGrangeville, Julia Torre and
her husband, Paul of Whitestone, and Peter Lagatta and his
wife, Christine of Westfield, NJ; and her great-grandchildren,
Billy Lown and his wife, Jeannette, Heather Lown, Mitchell
Lown, Vinnie Csaszar, Brittney Zippay, Chris Wagner, Corey
Wallace, Annmarie Van Tassell, Nicole Amann, Isabella Lagatta,
Gemma Lagatta, Jillian, Emily and Kiersten Torre.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82,
Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route
82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Raymond’s
Cemetery, Bronx.

Hazel Coddington Comfort
Liberty, NY
Hazel Coddington Comfort, a lifetime area resident,
passed away on Friday June 6, 2008 at the Ellen Memorial Health
Care Center in Honesdale, PA. She was 93.
The daughter of Wilmot and Rella Freer Coddington,
she was born on October 28, 1914 in the Town of Fallsburg.
Hazel was retired from her position as a clerk
at Yaun Co. in Liberty, NY. She was the widow of Roy Comfort.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and
cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Coddington.
Friends may call on Tuesday June 10, 2008 from
Noon to 1 PM at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St.
Liberty. Services will be at the funeral home at 1 PM with
Rev. Bridgette LeConey officiating.
Burial will be in Hurleyville Cemetery, Hurleyville,

Liberty, NY
Anthony J. “Tony” Primiano, died
on Thursday June 5, 2008 at Westchester Medical Center in
Valhalla, NY. He was 61.
The son of the late Pasquale and Carmella Verriano
Primiano, he was born on August 14, 1946 in Staten Island,
NY.
He was an active member of the International
Order of Old Bastards. He was retired from Local 20 New York
City Concrete Workers Union.
Anthony was a fun-loving guy who had a tremendous
heart. He has always been known as a hard worker. Upon retiring
he spent his time hunting in camp, fishing, barbequing, going
to “The Pub”, and surrounding himself with those
he loved.
Survivors include his fiancée, Mary Lou
Boyles at home; 2 sons, Anthony Primiano and wife Trisha of
Liberty and Kevin Primiano of Liberty; a daughter, Melissa
Primiano of Coram, NY; a brother, Paul Primiano and wife Joan
of Carteret, NJ; a nephew Paul and 3 grandchildren, Samantha,
Alyssa and Deana.
We are not mourning his death, but celebrating
his life as he would have wanted with a Memorial Service to
be held on Monday June 9, 2008 at Noon at Ramsay’s Funeral
Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty.
Private cremation took place at the convenience
of the family.

Kathleen L. McGrath
Mount Vernon, NY
Kathleen L. McGrath, 83, a lifelong resident
of Mount Vernon, died on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Elant
at Fishkill.
Born on October 26, 1924 in Mount Vernon, she was the daughter
of the late William J. McGrath and Grace Isabel Bates. She
was employed for 50 years as a secretary for Travelers Insurance
in New York City. Following her retirement, she faithfully
took the bus from Fleetwood to the Bronxville Hospital where
she volunteered with the Sisters. She was a member of St.
Peter’s Church in Mount Vernon, enjoyed needlepoint
and knitting, and spent many memorable vacations on Cape Cod
with her family.
Kathleen is survived by her brother, William E. Greer of Fishkill;
her niece, Nancy Mahoney of LaGrange; her nephew, William
E. Greer, Jr. and his wife, Isobel of LaGrange; her great-nieces
and nephews, Eileen and Michael Mauro, James and Michele Mahoney,
Michael and Paula Greer and Lisa Greer; her great, great nieces
and nephews, Michael Mauro, Jr., Maggie Mauro, Harrison and
Hannah Greer, Seamus Mahoney and Sean Durando; and her cousins,
Wallace Kaye and family, and George Kaye and family of Millerton.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Gladys Greer and
her cousin, Linda Kaye.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Elant at Fishkill
for their wonderful care of Kathleen during the last four
years.

Emma Marchese
East Fishkill, NY
Emma Marchese, 79, a resident of Hopewell Junction
for seven years and formerly of Brooklyn died on Thursday,
June 5, 2008 at the Wingate at Beacon.
Emma was born in White Haven, PA on July 15, 1928, the daughter
of the late Sylvester and Mary Tomascovich Mazurek. She was
a parishioner of St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction and
attended the East Fishkill Senior Center.
Emma is survived by her son, John Marchese and his wife, Elizabeth
of Stratford, CT; her daughter, Marianne Anastasio and her
husband, Vincent of Hopewell Junction; her brother, Steven
Mazurek of PA; and her grandchildren, Michael Marchese, Kristina
Anastasio, Christine Marchese, Jennifer Anastasio, Vito Anastasio
and Stephanie Marchese. She was predeceased by her husband,
Vincent Marchese, on June 18, 2001.

Malcolm M. Nolan

Malcolm M. Nolan, 54, an area resident since
1980 and formerly of Mount Vernon, died on Wednesday, June
4, 2008 at his home.
Malcolm was born in Mount Vernon on February 3, 1954, the
son of Malcolm and Mary Nedwick Nolan. For the past 24 years,
he has worked in the marketing department at IBM, Poughkeepsie.
He enjoyed traveling, golfing and sports, and was extremely
proud of his three children.
He is survived by his children, Kelly Nolan of Kissimmee,
FL, Brian Nolan of Wappingers Falls and Patrick Nolan of Wappingers
Falls; his supportive, long-time friend, Marilyn; his sisters,
Pat Dugan of Danbury, CT and Maureen Arone of White Plains;
and several nieces and nephews.
