| Carmine P. Calabro, Jr.
Hopewell Junction, NY

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Carmine P. Calabro, Jr., 63, a lifelong
local resident, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie
on Wednesday, June 10, 2009.
In 2008, he retired as a truck driver for Viking Industries
in New Paltz where he had worked for many years. Carmine served
as President of the V.F.W. Post 170 Men’s Auxiliary in
Poughkeepsie and his hobbies included golfing, NASCAR, and watching
football, especially his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. He
enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends.
Born in New Milford, CT on August 30, 1945, he was son of the
late Carmine and Nina Golding Calabro, Sr. In 1963, he enlisted
in the U.S. Navy and served his country until being honorably
discharged in 1965.
On December 9, 1973, he married Brenda Schoonmaker in Salt Point.
Mrs. Calabro survives at home.
Additional survivors include his daughters, Karen Howard &
her husband Chris of Rossville, TN and Kari Calabro of Poughkeepsie;
sons, Carmine P. Calabro III of Middletown, George Calabro &
his wife Nicole of Hopewell Junction and Manuel Deriux of Colorado;
grandchildren, Carmine IV, Amanda, Taylor, Georgia, Phoebie,
Cameron, Ian, and Erik; sisters, Patricia Henderickson &
her husband Danny of Allentown, PA, Shirley Titanic & her
husband Bob of Wallkill, and Johanna Calabro of Saratoga Springs;
brothers, Dominick Calabro & his wife Margaret of Atkins,
SC, and Charles Calabro & his wife Dee of Poughkeepsie;
also many nieces and nephews. Carmine was predeceased by his
son, Thomas P. Calabro in 1974.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the McHoul Funeral
Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service
will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, followed
by interment in LaGrange Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Carmine’s
memory be made to the V.F.W. Post 170 Men’s Auxiliary,

Helen B. Coney

Helen B. Coney, a lifetime area resident, passed away on Tuesday
June 9, 2009 at the Andover Care Center. She was 78.
The daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Green Burns, she was
born on June 4, 1931 in Middletown, NY.
Helen worked as a teacher’s aide at Liberty Central Schools.
She was a member of the Liberty Presbyterian Church where she
was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. She was a Liberty Central
Schools Foster grandparent and was very active in the Girl Scouts.
She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Coney who died on
May 5, 1994.
Survivors include two sons; Ralph Coney Jr. and his companion
Debbie Bierstine of White Sulphur Springs and Corby Coney and
his wife Amy of Liberty; three daughters, Karen Faraci and her
husband Robert of Liberty, Kim Thompson and her husband Jon
of Middletown and Kit Coney Kelly and her husband Tom of Livingston
Manor; a brother, Robert Burns and his wife Barbara of Liberty;
a daughter-in-law Lisa Coney of Youngsville; 13 grandchildren;
2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday June 10, 2009 from 7-9 PM
at Ramsay’s Funeral Home in Liberty. Funeral services
will be today, Thursday June 11, 2009 at 10 AM at the Liberty
Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jay Wallace officiating. Burial
will be in Lew Beach Cemetery following the services.

Andrea Unterman
Milan, NY
June 7, 2009
Andrea Unterman, 50, of Milan, NY passed away peacefully at
her home on Sunday June 7, 2009 after a long courageous battle
with cancer.
Prior to her retirement in 2007, she owned an Executive Recruiting
firm for over 20 years. She loved her work and took pride in
the fact that she was responsible for shaping hundreds of successful
careers. Andrea was a Queen’s girl who had a tough exterior
that protected a sensitive heart. She was famous for not editing
herself before speaking. She had the ability to be flattering
and impolitic, calculating and flighty, boastful and self-defeating
all at once. She was that rare and strangely likable character,
a straight-talking bullshit artist.
She spent the last couple of years very involved with the Benedictine
Cancer Support House. She loved to ski, photography, and the
natural world and was proud to be a founding member of the Fresh
Air Foes.
Born May 25, 1959 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of Stanley
Unterman of Tamarac, Florida, and the late Shirley (Friedlander)
Brescia. She was also predeceased by her sister, Doreen Williams.
In addition to her father, Andrea is survived by her life partner:
Angela English, her nephew: Dustin Williams of Brooklyn, NY
her chosen brother Perry Finkelstein of Nesconset, NY, her surrogate
mother Leila Dayne of Smithtown, NY, her 2 aunts and uncle:
Harriet Kaidman of Corman, NY, and Eve and Edward Barth of Hopewell,
NJ, as well as several cousins and many close friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Sunday, June 28,
2009 at Poet’s Walk in Red Hook, NY. Directions to Poet’s

June 5, 2009
Katherine T. Hussey, a lifelong resident of hurleyville, NY,
entered into rest on Friday June 5, 2009 at home with her loving
family by her side, after a valiant battle with cancer. She
was 85.
The daughter of the late William and Mary Bertholf Toohey,
she was born on November 26, 1923 in Hurleyville, NY. Kay served
in the United States Navy WAVES during WWII and was a recipient
of the American Theater and Victory Medals. She was an employee
of the United States Postal Service for 25 years, working at
both Kiamesha Lake and Hurleyville Post Offices, retiring in
1986. She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in NY
and St. Anthony the Abbott Mision in Florida .
Kay is survived by her longtime companion of 26 years, Stephen
“Tippy” Paterchik of Monticello, NY. She is also
survived by her former husband, Arthur J. Hussey of Mountaindale,
NY and their children; a daughter, Kathleen Smith and her husband
Jerry of Manassas, VA; two sons, William A. Hussey of Monticello,
NY and Arthur J. Hussey Jr. and his wife Tracey of Liberty,
NY; six grandchildren, Terry Venuti, Christine Boddie, Brian
Smith, William A. Hussey II, Kayli Hussey and Jessica Hussey
and three great-grandchildren, Brendan Boddie, Salvatore and
Gianna Venuti; a sister, Mary Crowell of Vestal, NY and several
nieces and nephews.
Kay was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Hussey; four brothers,
Richard, William, Lawrence and George Toohey and a sister, Margaret
Hartman.
The family will receive friends on Monday June 8, 2009 from
2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St.
Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be held at Ramsay’s
Funeral Home on Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 11:45 AM. Monsignor
Edward Straub will officiate.
Burial will be in Hurleyville Cemetery following the services.

Eric Cuttler, 66, of Red Hook, NY, died Saturday, June 6,
2009 at his home. A resident of the Hudson Valley for over 40
years, he previously lived in Kingston and Spring Glen, NY.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a concierge at Homowack
Lodge in Spring Glen.
Eric - who had a wicked sense of humor - was an avid reader,
a poet, an actor, a master of trivia, and loved to play Scrabble.
Born December 17, 1942, in Brooklyn, he was the son of the
late Bernard and Mae (Grossman) Cuttler. He received a Bachelor’s
Degree from SUNY New Paltz.
He is survived by his brother & sister-in-law, Bruce &
Joanne Cuttler of Red Hook, and a sister, Syma Cuttler of Millerton,
NY.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, and there
will be no visiting hours. Cremation will be at Wiltwyck Cemetery
in Kingston.
Memorial donations may be made in Eric’s memory to the

Mildred G. McHoul
Boston, MA

BOSTON, MA – Mildred G. McHoul, 92, a lifelong resident
of Boston, died on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at her home. Her beloved
husband of 72 years, Alexander, was with her at the time of
her death. He had been her devoted caretaker for many years
as she struggled with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born on November 12, 1916 in Boston, she was the daughter of
Maurice and Annie Holt Hennessy. She lived almost all of her
life in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. On April 23,
1937, Millie married Alexander F. McHoul. Together, they dedicated
their lives to running the McHoul Funeral Home in Boston and
were extremely proud that their three sons, two daughters-in-law,
four grandchildren and two grandsons-in-law have continued the
family business in Massachusetts and New York. Over the years,
she was very active in many different organizations, but above
all else, her family was always her top priority.
In addition to her husband, Millie is survived by her sons,
Douglas A. McHoul and his wife, Marikay of Hopewell Junction
and Vieques, Puerto Rico and Donald A. McHoul and his wife,
Barbara of Cumberland, RI; her daughter-in-law, Anne McHoul;
and her 13 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, Lori and
Peter Cassidy and their daughters, Loretta, Carolyn and Allison,
Bonnie and John Wiegard and their children, Megan, Katie and
Jacob, Heather and John Sulca and their children, Corey and
Samantha, Mary Ann and Karl Menuau and their children, Karl
and Jadyn, Doug and Stephanie McHoul and their daughter, Madelyn,
Kelly and Paul Doyle and their children, Eamonn, Niamh and Emmet,
Kary and Terry Gatens and their sons, Cooper and Beau, Deana
and Ryan Welter and their children, Skye, Shane, Juliette, Julianna,
Tristan and Trinity; Reid and Rebekah McHoul and their children,
Elijah, Luke, Ethan and Mariah, Austin and Kelley McHoul and
their children, Isaiah, Kathryn, Israel and Anna Leigh, Christina
and Josh Dearmon and their children, Hannah, Ella and Noah,
Jamie and Ryan O’Hanlon and their daughters, Grace, Faith
and Noelle, and Clinton McHoul. She was predeceased by her son,
David A. McHoul on June 6, 2005; her brothers, Maurice and Edmund
Hennessy; and her sisters, Dorothy Rollins and Rita Somers.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the
McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 354 Adams Street, Boston, MA. The
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30
a.m. at St. Ambrose Church in Dorchester followed by interment
in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA.

Toni Sue Davis, of Middletown died Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009
Unexpectedly at Orange Regional Medical Center at Horton. She
was 53.
Born in Middletown, NY on April 25, 1956, She was the daughter
of the late Robert A Slater and Rosalie Gobeo French and husband
Barry who survives her of Athens, Ala.
She was a bookeeper for Shop Rite, Monroe, NY.
Toni is survived by her husband of Richard Davis, and daughter
Nicole Davis at home, 3 sisters Rosalie Antoni of Montgomery,
Sheila and her husband Edward Gately of Moorehead City, NC,
Maria and her husband Jim Burkhead of Athens, Ala, Nieces and
nephews Bryan "Boo-bry", Antoni, Maria Roberson, David
and Alison Mendoza, Stevielyn Belote, Eric "Bob" Mendoza,
Marissa Burkhead, and Travis Livingston, Mothers in law Harriet
and Bob Murray of Phoenix, AZ, and Betty and John Ballentine,
Step Mother Mary Ann Slater of Middletown.
She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
She was predeceased by her sister Elaine Belote and 2 nieces

Bruce W. Weeden of 15 Bradner Avenue, Middletown passed away
Monday, June 1, 2009. He was 58.
He was born on January 30, 1951, the son of the late William
and Sophia Weeden.
Bruce was a graduate from DelHi Tech with a degree. in agriculture.
During his lifetime, Bruce was a licensed salesperson for John
Degnan Realty, was employed by Father & Son’s as a
shoe salesperson, and later in life, found enjoyment with his
own landscaping business. He was an avid collector of model
trains and model cars.
Bruce is survived by his two daughters, Mary Anne Weber and
her husband Jason of Las Vegas, Krystal L. Weeden of Middletown,
two sons, Bruce P. Weeden of Ohio and Christopher W. Weeden
of Middletown, his step-son Jason N. Edley of Bloomingburg,
his companion Brenda M. Dolson and her children, Angel, Artemio,
and Frankie, his brother Bryce E. Weeden and his wife Deborah
of Greenville, his sister Jennifer Bertoletti and her husband
Richard of Colorado, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces
and nephews, and his German Shepherd “Pugsley“.
There will be no public visitation. A private memorial service
will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements

EAST FISHKILL – Mary Ellen Ricotta, 72, a resident of
Hopewell Junction for 37 years and formerly of Rockland County,
died on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born on January 27, 1937 in Manhattan, she was the daughter
of Michael and Margaret Gaffney Skerritt. She was a parishioner
of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction and a member of the
Hopewell Hose Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary.
On April 1, 1956 in the Bronx, Mary married Charles J. Ricotta
who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughters,
Kathy Palomba and her husband, Mauro of Hopewell Junction and
Peggy Langer and her husband, Greg of Marlboro; her sons, Danny
Ricotta and his wife, Donna of Wappingers Falls, John Ricotta
and his wife, Thyra of Los Angeles, CA and Phil Ricotta of Hopewell
Junction; and her grandchildren, Amanda Palomba, Larina Florio,
Michael Florio, Anthony Ricotta, Mauro Palomba and Cory Ricotta.
Mary was predeceased by her son, Joseph C. Ricotta, on July
26, 2007 and her brothers, Michael and Patrick Skerritt.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9

Reinaldo Galarza, of Middletown died Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009
at Orange Regional Medical Center at Horton. He was 78.
Born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico on January 7, 1931, he was the
son of Joaquin and Juanita Cedeno Galarza.
He retired as a Maintenance worker at Orange County Community
College, Middletown, NY He loved baseball the Mets & Yankees,
Wrestling, sitting on porch and talking with everyone, his home
was always filled with latin miusic, enjoyed sharing it with
the music with the neighbors, loved to watch movies, soaps,
drama, westerns and boxing matches. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Naomi Torres Galarza at home, his
children, daughter Diana and her husband Robert King of Glens
Falls, daughter Minerva and her husband Daniel Shushinsky of
Kunkletown, PA., son Daniel Galarza and his wife Jenifer Pessin
Galarza of Marlborough, MA; and daughter Naomi Galarza and her
husband Eric Hizer of Cincinatti, OH., his brother Romualdo
Galarza of Newark, NJ and sister Mary Diaz of San Antonio, TX.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews.

Dr. Tadas Savickas, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday May
21, 2009 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris.
He was 93.
Dr. Savickas was born on March 21, 1916 in Lithuania to the
late Adam and Victoria Savickas. He was a retired Medical Physician
who practiced in Monticello, NY. He was a member of St. Peter’s
Roman Catholic Church in Monticello and was a member of the
American Medical Assn.
Survivors include his wife, Aldona Savickas at home; a son,
Paul A. Savickas of Waltham, MA; a daughter, Kristina Skipper
and her husband Dr. Kent Skipper of Dallas, TX; a sister, Janine
Snieska of Cape Cod, MA and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place on Saturday May 30, 2009
at St. Aloysius Church in Great Neck, NY. Burial took place
at All Saints Cemetery in Great Neck, NY.
