MIDDLETOWN - David was the only child of Patti and Tracy Racine. He had just turned 25 when he passed away on December 27, 2011. He attended Truman Moon and Maple Hill Elementary Schools, John S. Burke Catholic High School and Pace University. He loved football with a passion and played his heart out from the age of 7 through high school and college. His heart was as big as the outdoors he loved. He had a sense of righteousness that led him to defend those he loved against any comers. Even as a little boy he had a way of saying things that left you laughing.

“Let me tell you sumpin” David was an avid fisherman. He loved to work on his friend’s cars. He had taken steps to enter the U.S. Marine Corps as a flight mechanic. He loved his puppy dog, Snickers. They are already probably playing a rousing game of fetch in between eating ice cream and making puzzles with Grandma and Papa Racine, “’cause Papa’s and kids make the best puzzles.” “Watch out for those wild cows – they just might be carnivorous!”

“Can I tell you just one more sumpin?” - Survivor’s include David’s Granny Betsy Sosler; Uncles and Aunts David and Lynn Racine, Holly and Ed Whipple, Donna and Jay Kessler, David and Janet Ayers, Katie and Dirck Conklin. All of his cousins and their families Kaliegh, Megan, Natalie, Michael, Lindsey, Tonia, Cristin, Beth, Becky, Michele, Samantha, Christopher, Jaysen, Christiana, James, Madisyn, Dale, Caitlin, Mara, Mina, Emma and Jayla and two new little ones on the way. Godparents Glenn Gilson, Mario Sheldon and Michele Gianino. Also his bestest buddy Kristen Stanley and a host of friends who were as brothers and sisters to him as well as his AXE fraternity brothers.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Betty and Al Racine.

David’s family would like to thank the Emergency and ICU staff of ORMC, the Middletown Fire and Police Departments and Mobile Life for their kindness, caring and professionalism.

Tracy and Patti invite family and friends to visit from 2:30-4 and 7-9 on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Morse Funeral Home Inc, 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown NY. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at John S. Burke Catholic High School Chapel, where some of his best football memories and friendships were made, 80 Fletcher Street, Goshen, NY. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Middletown.
