Porr elected president of state association

ALBANY – Bronxville Village administrator Harold Porr III has been elected president of the New York State City/County Management Association.

Porr served as Newburgh city manager from 1992 to 2002.

He has been an active member of the association Board of Directors for several years and was recently elected unanimously by association members to serve as president for the 2008-2009 program year.

NYSCMA is a professional organization of appointed chief executive officers and administrators, other appointed municipal officials and educators dedicated to the improvement of local government and the quality of urban life.  NYSCMA is the state affiliate of the International City/County Management Association.

“Now more than ever, as we face difficult economic times, our local governments are in need of professional managers and the employment of leading government management practices and policies,” said Porr.
