| Hall conducts business listening tours |
|
MONTGOMERY – Congressman John Hall conducted an economic listening tour Monday meeting with business people in Dutchess and Orange counties and learning what concerns are on their minds. He got an earful with most comments centering on the Congressional bailout of Wall Street and the banking industry. “This is exactly why I wanted to have this meeting because the more concrete suggestions that I can get that can be turned into legislation that will try to help,” he told a handful of business leaders at the Orange County Chamber of Commerce Office in Montgomery. “One of the things I have been afraid of is that as people become more afraid, they will move their money to bigger banks thinking they will be safer, when they may be worse off.” Chamber President John D’Ambrosio said the bottom line comes down to a four letter word – jobs. “Where the rubber meets the road is creating jobs for people and I think Congressman Hall is interested in creating jobs for people.” Related topics including home mortgages and financing vehicles were discussed at the two sessions. |
