| Father, son face drug, weapon charges |
|
RAMAPO – A father and son are facing drug and weapon possession charges after a traffic stop by State Troopers assigned to Tarrytown barracks. Officers stopped a northbound vehicle on the Thruway in the Town of Ramapo and found 100 glassine envelopes of heroin with a street value of $2,500 on Angel DeAngelo, Sr., 35, of Amsterdam, NY. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded sawed-off 12 gauge Ithaca model shotgun with a pistol grip, located in the trunk. Angel DeAngelo, Jr. 18, of Amsterdam, NY, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. The elder DeAngelo was charged with criminal possession controlled substance in the third and seventh degrees. Both defendants were arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail for DeAngelo, Sr and $25,000 bail for DeAngelo, Jr. |
