Online auction to benefit cancer patients

POUGHKEEPSIE – In what is being billed as the first online silent auction in the Hudson Valley, the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Integrated Enterprise Solutions have established an online silent auction to benefit cancer patients.

Chamber President Charles North said the concept is unique.

“We are auctioning off some items that would be helpful to a woman that might be going through chemotherapy and these items will be able to help her the difficult times,” he said. The items are being donated by Cartier’s Hair Design.

North said the auction will culminate on Tuesday evening when the Mid-Hudson Bridge is lit in pink for “think pine for breast cancer awareness.”

Money raised through the effort will be divided between Miles of Hope Cancer Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
