Dutchess County explores bulk energy purchases with local governments, schools

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County government has invited local governments and school districts to explore the possibility of joining it with the bulk purchasing of energy.

The county will hold informational meetings next Monday and Tuesday.

Dutchess is finalizing a request for proposals that will be sent to energy service companies for the supply of electricity for a one, two or possibly three year people. All municipalities, school districts and other special districts that are interested in finding out if energy savings can be achieved through the bid process are invited to participate in the county’s request for proposals.

The informational meetings will be held on Monday, October 6 at the Farm and home Center on Route 44 in Millbrook at 7 p.m. and at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7 at Dutchess Community college, Bowne Hall, Room 122, in Poughkeepsie.
