Vassar College students robbed on campus

POUGHKEEPSIE – Four Vassar College students were robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning, Poughkeepsie Town Police said.

College security notified Poughkeepsie Town Police of the incident which occurred around 12:30 a.m.

The victims reported they were approached by a man armed with what appeared to be a sawed off shotgun and demanded property from them. Police did not say if anything was taken.

The man fled the area in an unknown direction on foot. No injuries were reported by the victims.

The suspect is described as a black man about five feet eight inches to five feet 10 inches tall, medium building, in his late teens, wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, ski cap and a bandana covering his face.
