| Counter terrorism team blitzes train stations, bus terminals |
||
WALLKILL – Police agencies from the state counter terrorism team west of the Hudson River Wednesday morning conducted their semi-annual visit to train stations and bus terminals during the early morning commute time to remind travelers to keep their eyes and ears open for any suspicious activity. The police handed out flyers reminding travelers that if they see something, say something. Esther McIntyre of Liberty, a daily commuter to New York from the Wallkill-Middletown station, was glad to see the increased police presence. “I think it’s a terrific idea. I love to see the police around because it always makes you feel more secure and it’s just a great thing,” she said. “They should be here more often, actually.” Police hope that commuters will alert the authorities if they see or hear anything suspicious while waiting at a train station or bus terminal.
