Police identify body found in river

NEW WINDSOR – Police have identified the body of a man that was discovered on the shoreline of the Hudson River in the area of Plum Point Park in New Windsor.

New Windsor Police identified the man as William Hopper, 47, of the Town of Newburgh

Hopper was reported missing last Tuesday, November 4. His vehicle was located near the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.

New Windsor detectives are working with State Police investigators on the case. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
