 CSEA ratifies Westchester County agreement

WHITE PLAINS – By an overwhelming majority, the Westchester County CSEA Monday voted to accept a fact finder’s report for a new contract with the county.

The pact, which would be retroactive to January 1, 2006 when the previous contract expired, to December 31, 2011, includes a total 20 ¼ percent pay raise over the course of the six year agreement.

Unit President Jack McPhillips said the report is a fair deal for the union.

“We saw the factor finder’s report as an acceptable, fair and equitable acceptance to bring back to the membership, and told them so, and obviously they agreed with us, and that’s why 92 percent said yes,” he said.

It’s now up to the county Board of Legislators to approve the document and McPhillips is hopeful lawmakers take that action.
