Man arrested for gun possession after report of fight

NEWBURGH – A Newburgh man is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon, a .357 cal. Magnum revolver, after police responded to the area of 24 South Miller Street for a report of a fight with knives, bats and guns.

Witnesses told police two men had fought and one carried what she described as a “western style gun” and the others had large knives.

Police were told the suspects had fled on foot.

Officers later found two men, including Nicholas Colon, 19.  He had the .357 in his possession.
