Pedestrian struck, killed by train

SCARSDALE – A person was struck and killed by a Metro-North train near the Scarsdale train station Saturday night, authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in Westchester County.

This is the second Metro-North incident involving a pedestrian in two days. Friday night, a man was injured when he lied down on the tracks as a northbound train approached. The engineer tried to stop the train, but couldn’t. The man’s legs were amputated.
