Woman arrested after making false complaint to police

MAHOPAC – A Mahopac woman has been arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office after she made a complaint to the police that turned out to be false.

On May 12, Sabrina Hill, 18, told police that a few days earlier she had received two life-threatening e-mails from an acquaintance. An investigation was conducted and it turns out she admitted to police that she had sent the threatening messages to herself.

She was arrested and charged with falsely reporting an incident and making a false written statement. She was released without bail pending a future court appearance.

If convicted of either one of the misdemeanor charges, she could be sentenced to up to one year in the Putnam County Jail.
