| Forum helps families respond to ‘growing epidemic’ of autism |
|
GOSHEN – Parents of children with autism told a state Assembly hearing on the condition that they want and need more support. The Republican lawmakers came to the Orange County Seat in Goshen to have a dialog with the families, said Assemblywoman Nancy Calhoun of Blooming Grove. “The state can listen and see if there are some ways that we can provide early intervention,” she said. Assemblywoman Annie Rabbitt said it is “heartwarming to see such a strong and caring community presence focused on helping those with autism.” Another forum on autism is being held today in Poughkeepsie. |
