| Leibell talks homeland security with business |
|
FISHKILL – The chairman of the Homeland Security Committee of the State Senate discussed security issues with business people Thursday at a conference in Fishkill. Senator Vincent Leibell of Patterson discussed the future of companies serving homeland security, national security or defense needs. “I think most of us think of it in terms of bad nations and bad people out there who would want to hurt our country and our state, but it’s even broader than that. It includes everything from global warming and the impact on our climate, hurricanes, tornados, and many things in terms of health care; the risk of new diseases and pandemics.” The conference was sponsored by the Hudson Valley Technology Development Center and the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation.
