Fire at West Point

WEST POINT – A three-alarm fire damaged a residence at 311 Winan Place on the U.S. Military Academy at West Point Thursday morning.  There were no injuries.

The fire, in the Gray Ghost Housing area adjacent to Keller Army Community Hospital, was reported around 10:30 a.m.

Fire departments from Fort Montgomery, Cornwall and Vails Gate along with Highland Falls EMTs, assisted the West Point Fire Department to extinguish the blaze.

West Point officials issued a statement at noon saying the fire was contained and extinguished.

The fire is under investigation.
