Van driver dead after collision with school bus; no students hurt

LIBERTY – A collision between a van and a small school bus has left the driver of the van dead, State Police said.

The victim was identified as Carlton Reinshagen, 84, of Neversink.

The accident, on Grants Road, Route 55 in Bradley near the Liberty-Neversink town line, occurred around 3:30 p.m. The school vehicle, which was a suburban-type bus, had one child onboard, police said.

Based on initial police investigation, the truck driver may have suffered a heart attack or other medical condition, resulting in the crash, police said. An autopsy was to be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
