| McQuade expands services with enlarged facilities |

NEW WINDSOR – McQuade Children’s Services in New Windsor officially launched its expanded services Wednesday with the dedication of its enlarged Kaplan School building. The school added 20,000 square feet to the 9,000 square foot building, which afforded the facility room to add 11th and 12th grade students, said organization President Dr. David Jacobsen. “Many of the school districts are hopeful for that because it will reduce dropout rate and allow kids to finish highs school, which is an important task,” he said. “In order to go through 12th grade, we needed to add certain amenities to the campus, including a science lab, including a library, and we took the opportunity to add a much larger cafeteria within the same building.” The school for troubled youths offers both residential and non-residential programs. A total of 116 students attend McQuade’s programs. |
