KINGSTON – A man, who along with two others, assaulted and robbed a man in his Gardiner home in August 2007, was convicted by an Ulster County Court jury Wednesday. When sentenced next month, Michael Cioto could face up to 25 years in state prison. Cioto and two others lured a victim out of his home, held him at gunpoint and forced him back inside. They then pistol-whipped and robbed him. Cioto was charged with robbery and burglary in the first degree, robbery in the second degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree. He has a prior criminal record which includes convictions for burglary and arson, said Ulster District Attorney Holley Carnright. |
