CSEA contract approved in Kingston

KINGSTON – The 153 members of the City of Kingston’s CSEA have a new four year contract as the city council Tuesday night approved the agreement effective January 1, 2008.

Council Majority Leader William Reynolds said the city had the $207,000 to cover the cost in the budget.

He said the consensus of the council members was that the city could afford the contract and it helps the city workers meet the cost of living expenses that are “going through the roof, especially with fuel price increases.”

The pact includes pay raises of three percent per year for the first three years and four percent in 2011.
