Guardian Angels ask motorists for help in solving murder

GA member Reuben Estrada hands out
flyers near murder scene

MIDDLETOWN – A half dozen members of the local chapter of the Guardian Angels in Middletown spent Sunday afternoon handing out flyers in both English and Spanish to motorists as they stopped at the corner of Wickham and Wisner avenues.

That was the location where Robert Kwiatkowski, 59, of Middletown was walking home from work around 9:30 p.m. last Wednesday, April 30 when he was attacked and stabbed to death on the sidewalk at Wickham Avenue.

City police have been talking to motorists at that intersection since the homicide and now, the Angels wanted to lend a helping hand in catching those who are responsible, said Guardian Angels’ Middletown coordinator Ruben Estrada.

“There had to be pedestrian, there had to be a car, there had to be a driver who might have witnessed something. We just have to spark their memory,” he told MidHudsonNews.com while handing out flyers. “Hopefully, this will help the police department identify or get some information which will eventually get a suspect.”

Kwiatkowski was a father or two teenagers and was going to college to become a teacher.
