Joint Chiefs Chairman tells graduating cadets they represent the best in America

Mullen

WEST POINT – The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, said that the Army is the “center of gravity” in the US armed services and that they are “the best America has to offer.”

Mullen addressed senior cadets at the US Military Academy at West Point Friday as part of his day-long tour of the facilities.

He told them they are about to be commissioned as second lieutenants in a time “of incredible” challenge for them.

“Our Army is the center of gravity for the United States military, and it has performed admirably. I see it routinely, whether I am in Iraq or Afghanistan or other places around the world, young people making such a difference,” he said.

Mullen told the seniors who graduate May 31st that their training at West Point for the last four years will make them strong leaders as the nation continues its fight against terror.
