| Scenic Hudson hopes state will follow recommendations |
|
POUGHKEEPSIE – Scenic Hudson last week told the state that while its Coastal Management Program for the Hudson River has successes, it also has some pitfalls. The plan is receiving insufficient oversight and support from the state and federal governments, the environmental organization said in a report. Now, its Executive Director Ned Sullivan said he hopes the government will take action. “We hope the state will immediately bring together the leaders of the key agencies that play a role in this program and have them work together to create a central repository of information on coastal resources, both economic and environmental, and to foster state, local collaboration, so that our coastal areas can be vibrant, healthy places for economic and environmental health,” he said. The study was conducted for Scenic Hudson with the findings transmitted to the state for its review. |
