GREENBURGH – A Lake Peekskill man was killed when he lost control of his car while on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Greenburgh Sunday morning.

State Police said Shkemo Haxjaj, 26, was driving at a high rate of speed when he attempted to change lanes, ran off the highway, struck guard rail and several trees before traveling down an embankment.

He died in the crash. A passenger in the car, Durim Haxjaj, 17, of the same 51 Hanson Street, Lake Peekskill address, sustained minor injuries.

The accident occurred at around 9:45 a.m., police said.
