Grand jury makes recommendations regarding Ulster LEC controversy

Three years late, more than $20 million
over budget. Why?

KINGSTON – As part of the Ulster County grand jury’s investigation into possible wrongdoing in the development and construction of the new Law Enforcement Center, it has also written a report on what went wrong and how to prevent them from happening against.

District Attorney Holley Carnright said the contents of that report have yet to be made public.

“The grand jury report reviews many of the mistakes that made the delays and cost overruns possible, and offers a number of proposals to make county government more effective and less likely to suffer these mistakes in the future,” he said.

Carnright said the report will be transmitted to Judge Michael Bruhn, who will review it and decide whether to make it public.
