Burglary under investigation

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at the Gulf gas station at 339 Hooker Avenue early Thursday morning.

The incident occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. when someone broke the glass in the front door. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a blue t-shirt, dark knit cap, dark pants and light gloves.

He removed cigarettes, lighters and lottery tickets from the store, which he carried off in a large gray garbage can and a small garbage can, police said. He was last seen on the Cedar Avenue of the building.
