Man tries to drink the evidence
ROSENDALE – Police in Rosendale have charged a man with stealing a bottle of booze from a liquor store and then drinking the evidence outside.
Police said Phillip Coumbes, 26, of Cottekill Village Estates, allegedly entered Fann’s Plaza Liquor Store while already intoxicated, grabbed a bottle from the shelf and ran outside and started to drink it before he was arrested.
Coumbes was found to be in possession of marijuana as well.
He was charged with petit larceny and unlawful possession of marijuana, issued appearance tickets, and released.
