| Molinaro says one economic development czar is enough |
|
ALBANY – With the resignation of Downstate Empire State Development chairman Joseph Foye, now is the perfect opportunity to reunite the state’s economic development efforts under one roof. That is the opinion of Assemblyman Marc Molinaro of Tivoli. Foye resigned shortly after his former boss, Eliot Spitzer stepped down as governor. Upstate ESD Chairman Daniel Gunderson remains in his position. But, Molinaro said it would be wise to return to one effort as was the case before Spitzer. “It would seem to me that if we were really going to rebound from what is a very difficult economic situation and develop a robust economy statewide, it would be best to do that under one leader with regional input and certainly input from the local level,” he said. Molinaro has conveyed his thoughts on the matter to Governor David Paterson. |
