Police charge man with 2007 bank robbery

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A 25-year-old man has been arrested by Town of Newburgh Police in connection with the April 10, 2007 robbery of the Bank of America branch on Route 300 in the town.

Darren Thompson, a convicted bank robber, had been indicted by an Orange County grand jury several months ago in connection with the Newburgh heist. He was indicted on charges of first- and second-degree robbery.
Thompson was not arrested earlier as he has been held in federal prison in Allenwood, PA on a parole violation.

Another suspect in the case, Habte Manning, was charged last year.

Thompson was also charged by Monroe Police in connection with an April robbery of a bank in that area.
