Former New Windsor councilman dies

NEW WINDSOR – Former New Windsor Town Board member and chairman of the town planning board Ernest Spignardo has died. He was 84 when he passed away on Saturday.

The lifelong area resident was the owner of Ernie’s Men and Tailing Shop for over 40 years. Spignardo served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned several medals.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy, a daughter and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27 at S. Joseph’s Church in New Windsor.
