Attempted robbery gas station robbery reported

POUGHKEEPSIE – State Police at Poughkeepsie are investigating an attempted robbery at a gas station on Route 55 in Lagrange Sunday night.

According to police reports, a man, wearing a ski mask, told the female clerk at the Exxon gas station to empty the cash register, but he fled before taking any money.

While no weapon was displayed, he did tell the clerk that he had one.

The would-be robber fled, possible in a vehicle, on Route 55, police said.
