Same suspect may have hit three Dutchess County stores

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police are investigating three separate robberies this weekend that may have been committed by the same individual.

The first took place at 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning when a man entered the 7-11 store at Route 9 and Old Hopewell Road in Wappinger. He ordered the clerk to hand over cash before fleeing.

Last Saturday night, at about 11:30 p.m., a man, believed to be the same suspect, approached two employees of the Stewart’s Shop on Route 376 in Freedom Plains in the Town of East Fishkill just as they had closed the store. He told them he had a gun and ordered them back into the store, where he robbed them.

In a third case shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday evening, a man attempted to rob a gas station on Route 55 in LaGrange. He ordered a female clerk to hand over cash, but fled before she gave him any.
