Community involvement runs high Beacon revitalization

BEACON – Whether it is continued revitalization of Beacon’s Main Street, its Hudson River waterfront or the Fishkill Creek, citizen involve is running high.

A number of committees are actively involved in making all of them happen, said Mayor Steven Gold.

“There are so many people that interested in helping the city progress and be a better place to live and have a better quality of life,” he said. “People want businesses to do well and flourish. They want our waterfront to be a place of recreation, and of course, the gorgeous, natural Fishkill Creek, which runs right through the city. You’ve got a city and running right through it is a beautiful creek that has mostly vegetation on each side of it.”

Committees meet on a regular basis to work with city officials in hopes of continuing the rebirth of Beacon.
