HILLSDALE – Restoration of the Henry Knox Cannon Trail is complete and officials celebrated at the state line in Hillsdale, NY and Alford, Mass. on Saturday.

The event was a partnership between the Hudson River Valley Greenway, the Hudson River National Heritage Area and the South Boston Citizen’s Association Evacuation Day Committee to commemorate Evacuation Day and the restoration of the 56 granite markers that delineate the trail from Crown Point and Ft. Ticonderoga to Dorchester Heights overlooking Boston.

The event was held at a newly restored marker on the state line.

“The Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area provides visitors and residents and residents the opportunity to experience firsthand the history and environment that earned the Hudson River Valley its national designation,” said National Heritage Area Executive Director Mary Mangione.
