Power knocked out to hundreds

MID-HUDSON – Over 2,000 customers of Orange and Rockland Utilities lost electric power early this morning when strong winds and heavy rains brought down tree limbs and power lines.

Spokesman Michael Donovan said 1,500 customers are without power in Woodbury and 875 have no electricity in Rockland County with the majority – 750 – in Orangetown.

All customers are expected to be restored by the end of the day, he said.
