| Fire damages house in Town of Newburgh |

MIDDLE HOPE – A two-alarm fire in the Middle Hope area of the Town of Newburgh Monday afternoon damaged a house at 445 River Road. The fire was first reported around 12:30 p.m. with Middle Hope responding. Within minutes, Goodwill Fire Department, Cronomer Valley and the Stewart Air National Guard Fire Department were called to the scene, with New Windsor called in on standby. Some two hours later the fire that tore through a section of the roof was out and firefighters were cleaning up. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Occupants were home at the time, but there were no injuries were reported.
