Man charged with holding woman’s head under bath water

MONTICELLO – Village Police have charged a Monticello man with two counts of second-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment in the first degree after a violent domestic dispute at a residence at the Carriage House apartments on Shaker Heights Drive in Monticello Sunday night.

Gerson Diodonet had allegedly punched a 32-year-old woman in the head and body during a domestic dispute. He had also grabbed the woman by the hair, wrapped a shower curtain around her face and head and then forced her head under water in the bath tub several times.

Other family members in the residence interrupted the assault and called 911.

The victim sustained bruises to her neck and head and was treated by Mobile Medic ambulance.

Diodonet was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
