Stabbing in Sullivan County

MONTICELLO – A Bronx man has been charged with second-degree assault for allegedly stabbing another man at a residence in the Glen Spey section of the Town of Lumberland.

Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence on Route 31 at around 7:40 a.m. Sunday and found Frank Bastone, 39, suffering from stab wounds.

He was taken to Bon Secour Hospital in Port Jervis and listed in stable condition, police said.

Deputies arrested Paul Miranda, 40, of the Bronx, and charged him with assault.

He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Deputies say that the two men knew each other and that the investigation into the incident is continuing.
