| Mountain Jam Music Festival attendees charged with drug possession |

CATSKILL – A total of 53 people were arrested on drug related charges stemming from the Mountain Jam Music Festival held at Hunter Mountain this past weekend, State Police at Catskill and Greene County Sheriff Gregory Seeley announced Wednesday. The two agencies, with the support of Hunter Mountain Security, arrested the individuals on charges ranging from marijuana possession to possession of large quantities of dangerous drugs. Police seized large quantities of marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, LSD, ecstasy, hashish, hydrocodone and other illegally possessed prescription drugs. In addition to the drug arrests, one concern-goer was charged with assaulting a member of the security staff. Christopher Hiltz, 22, of New London, VT was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, criminal possession of drugs, all as felonies, and several misdemeanors including resisting arrest, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. Over 30 persons arrested during the concert were placed in the Greene County Jail. |
