MID-HUDSON – Conservative committees in Orange and Dutchess counties have endorsed candidates for the fall elections and the ones for which they have announced support are all Republicans. The Orange County Conservative Party Executive Committee endorsed Nancy Calhoun for the 96th Assembly District, Annie Rabbitt in the 97th AD and Thomas Kirwan in the 100th AD. They endorsed Thomas Morahan for the 38th Senate District, William Larkin in the 39th SD, and John Bonacic in the 42nd SD. All are incumbents. The Orange Conservatives also endorsed Kieran Lalor for the 22nd Congressional District as well as Andrew Bivona for Family Court judge and Robert Onofry for Surrogate Court judge. All of those announcements were made by county Chairman John DeLessio. The Dutchess County Conservative Committee, meanwhile, endorsed former state Secretary of State Sandy Treadwell to run for the 20th Congressional District. This is the sixth county Conservative party endorsement for Treadwell. Previously, parties in Columbia, Greene, Delaware, Rensselaer and Otsego backed him. Dutchess party Chairwoman Patricia Killian said Treadwell “provide leadership in promoting critical issues that are vital to our county and will always fight for what is best for us. |
