Clinton calls on Belgian brewer to ensure jobs will remain at Budweiser can plant

STEWART AIRPORT -- Senator Hillary Clinton Tuesday called on InBev, the Belgian brewing giant who recently announced that they will be purchasing Anheuser-Busch, to ensure that the 200 jobs at the Metal Container Corporation at Stewart Airport would be retained.

In a letter to InBev CEO Carlos Brito, Clinton stressed the importance of the New Windsor facility to the economy of the Hudson Valley, and asked the company to clarify their plans for the facility and their 200 employees as their acquisition of Anheuser-Busch moves forward.

“The Metal Container Corporation has been a fixture in New Windsor and the Hudson Valley for years as a partner in the economic growth of the region,” said the senator. “It is my sincere hope that InBev works to continue the commitment to excellence that has been built by the hard work of the men and women whose livelihoods depend on the success of this facility.”

This letter to InBev follows Clinton’s efforts last week in calling on the Belgian brewer to honor their promise not to cut jobs at the Budweiser brewery in Baldwinsville, New York.
