| Bar brawl leads to arrests of brothers | |
MONTICELLO – Two brothers were arrested early Saturday morning after a barroom brawl in a Monticello establishment. Village Police arrested Stanley Hunter, 21, of Monticello and Vincent Hunter, Jr., 24, of Ferndale after the 3 a.m. fight at the Nature Bar and Lounge at 436 Broadway in Monticello. When police arrived at the bar, they found the brothers in a violent fight with several other people. Bottles were being thrown and people were overturning tables and chairs. The Hunters fought with police when they tried to break up the fight brawl and had to pepper spray them. They took off, but were eventually apprehended, but not before one officer was injured with a cut knee and a police car was kicked and dented. Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies, State Police and Town of Fallsburg responded to assist and clear the bar and move the large crowd out of the area. The bar sustained substantial damage. Stanley Hunter was charged with criminal mischief, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and violation of parole. Vincent Hunter was charged with criminal mischief, burglary, resisting
arrest and disorderly conduct. He had previously been banned from the
bar as the result if an incident the weekend before. |
