Four area Starbucks to close

MID-HUDSON – Four local Starbucks shops, including a free-standing in Mamaroneck, will close, as part of a cost-cutting program announced by the designer coffee giant, earlier this month.

According to a list released Thursday, Starbucks will close the store at 320-322 Mamaroneck Ave., and stores in the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, which has several stores, Galleria at Crystal Run in the Town of Wallkill, and the Poughkeepsie Galleria.  Altogether, 37 Starbucks will close in New York State.

On July 1, Starbucks announced the next step in its multi-faceted plan to transform the company, with a decision to close approximately 600 underperforming company-operated stores in the U.S. market. “This decision is a result of a rigorous evaluation of the U.S. company-operated store portfolio and includes the 100 stores targeted for closure in the company's previously announced plans”, the company said, in a News Release dated July 1.
