Man indicted in connection with fatal accident

MONTICELLO – A Jeffersonville man has been indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury on two counts of vehicular manslaughter in the first degree in connection with the death of a Callicoon teen.

Dwayne Clark, 46, was also indicted on two counts of felony driving while intoxicated and various vehicle and traffic offenses stemming from a fatal car crash on State Route 97 in the Town of Callicoon on the evening of June 6, 2008 that claimed the life of George Quinn, 16said Chief Assistant District Attorney James Farrell.

“He was a pedestrian; he walking along the roadway and the indictment alleges that Dwayne Clark struck him with his motor vehicle while he was intoxicated.”

 If convicted of the vehicular manslaughter charges, Clark faces a maximum sentence of 7½ to 15 years in state prison. 

Clark is in jail without bail pending arraignment Friday.
