Two charged after armed robbery

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Police have arrested two men following a report of a gunpoint robbery behind 307 Main Street shortly before midnight Saturday.

As police showed up to the scene, the two men took off in different directions.

One subject was apprehended by K-9 Drago after a brief foot pursuit.

Kevin Johnson, 20, of 20 Thompson Street in Poughkeepsie was charged with first-degree robbery, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and resisting arrest.

He is also wanted by the City of Albany Police Department for grand larceny in the third degree, assault in the third degree and petit larceny.

Johnson is also wanted by the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia as a fugitive from justice.

The second suspect was cornered blocks away and was apprehended hiding under a porch.

Hector Marquez, 21, of 441 Main Street in Poughkeepsie, was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and resisting arrest. Other charges are pending, police said.
