Man walks off with $18,000 from bakery


BOICEVILLE – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the larceny of $18,000 in cash from the Bread Alone Bakery in Boiceville. The money was taken around 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

A witness told police a man dressed in a brown Bread Alone hooded sweatshirt with a red baseball cap approached the loading dock area of the bakery and removed a metal locker where cash deposits were kept.

The man fled in an unknown direction and it is not known whether a vehicle was involved, although police believe one was employed.

The suspect was described as clean shaven with reddish brown short cropped hair. He was between five-feet, six inches and five-feet, nine inches tall and described as having a square build. He was believed to be between 25 and 35 years old.
