Armed gunmen tie up cleaning lady, rob furniture store

NANUET – Two men, one armed with a handgun, tied up the cleaning lady at Bob’s Discount Furniture and stolen cash, checks and credit cards from the manager.

Clarkstown Police said the men entered the store on Hutton Avenue after the cleaning lady left the door unlocked at 8:20 a.m.  A second cleaning lady was expected.

The robbers came in the unlocked door and held up the manager at gunpoint and made off with the receipts, which police said could include those from Friday and the weekend.

One suspect was said to be a black man and the other, either white or Hispanic.
