Pennsylvania fugitive arrested in Sullivan County

LIBERTY – State Police at Liberty have arrested a Hortonville man on charges of criminal contempt in the second degree and being a fugitive from justice from Pennsylvania.

New York State Police were investigating a violation of an order of protection, and during the course of that investigation, it was learned that Daniel Adsit, 21, was wanted by Pennsylvania State Police for felony charges of burglary and robbery stemming from a home invasion incident that occurred on June 12.

On August 27, Adsit was spotted in Callicoon, but he attempted to flee from the police by going to the Village of Monticello.

State and Village Police caught him in Monticello in the parking lot of the Moon Manor apartments. Adsit was arraigned and sent to the Sullivan County Jail pending resolution of the local charges and extradition to Pennsylvania.
